Here we’re going to talk about the difference between Manta-Ray and Stingray. When we talk about marine life, there is a number of species. Many of them are still unknown. Inside the big seas, there are more than thousands of species. The classes and families of the species, all are different from others. Their sizes are as bigger as more than three flour building. We cannot estimate the full size of whales easily. Manta-Ray and stingray are two types of species inside the seas. There are some differences between them. When we talk about Manta-Ray, they are big in size belongs to the family Manta. Manta-Ray is part of the Myliobatidae family. They have two types of species including birostris and M. alfredi. While Stingrays are small fishes with a cartilaginous body which are closely related to sharks. They are classified into Myliobatoidei and forms the order Myliobatiformes consisting of eight families.
MANTA-RAY
Manta-rays are the rays which are big in size and belongs to the family Manta. They are part of the Myliobatidae family. They have two types of species including Birostris and M. alfredi. Bisrostris can reach 7m in width. Whereas, M. alfredi are smaller in size and can access up to 5.5m. Manta-rays are found in tropical saltwater locations, subtropical and warm temperate salt waters. They are big in size and heavier in weight than Stingrays. Manta rays have size up to 20 feet and weight 1 3/4 ton.
STINGRAY
They are small fishes with the cartilaginous body. They are closely related to sharks. Stingrays are classified into Myliobatoidei and form the order Myliobatiformes having eight families. They are found in tropical, temperate and subtropical waters. A small amount is also located in freshwater. They are smaller than Manta-Ray. Stingrays have stronger teeth which makes it bloody species. The mouth of Stingrays is located at the bottom of its body
