    Who is Tehsildar?

    Districts of Pakistan are divided into Tehsil and Talukas. From which each district has three to five tehsils and Talukas. Each Tehsil or Talukas are headed by the Deputy District Officer, Assistant Commissioner or Tehsildar/Talukdar. A tehsildar is referred to the tax officer. He is an administrative officer who is responsible for the collection of land revenue. Their duties and responsibilities are specified only at this level. The chief official of a Tehsil is known as Tehsildar who is responsible for maintenance of administrative levels. Both Tehsildar and Patwari are most important administrative or land revenue officers in Pakistan.

    Who is Patwari?

    The Tehsils or Talukas are further subdivided into Mauzaa. The basic unit of land administration is a village or a group of villages with a patwar system or circle. Each Mauzaa is head by Patwari or (Tapedar in Sindh).  Patwari is also referring to the administrative person but only in rural or village areas. The responsibilities of Patwari comprised of preservation of land records and the proper calculation of revenue of lands.
