Who is Tehsildar?

Districts of Pakistan are divided into Tehsil and Talukas. From which each district has three to five tehsils and Talukas. Each Tehsil or Talukas are headed by the Deputy District Officer, Assistant Commissioner or Tehsildar/Talukdar. A tehsildar is referred to the tax officer. The Tehsils or Talukas are further subdivided into Mauzaa. The basic unit of land administration is a village or a group of villages with a patwar system or circle. Each Mauzaa is head by Patwari or (Tapedar in Sindh).  Patwari is also referring to the administrative person but only in rural or village areas. The responsibilities of Patwari comprised of preservation of land records and the proper calculation of revenue of lands.
